They are searching for a missing woman in the area of the breakwater in San Juan de la Arena (Asturias).

Since Friday, the firefighters of the Emergency Service of the Principality of Asturias have been carrying out the search for a woman in the area of the San Juan de la Arena breakwater, which belongs to the municipality of Soto del Barco. The Emergency Coordination Centre was notified at 20:00 hours yesterday, a day on which there was a yellow alert due to the swell on the Asturian coast. The alert was raised by a witness who saw a woman walking towards the breakwater and, after losing sight of her, heard her scream three times. Throughout the night, teams from the SEPA Fire Service, the Drone Unit, the Canine Rescue Team, the Rescue Group, Civil Guard personnel, and the Helimer from Maritime Rescue have been present in the area. Search activities using water and air resources resumed this Saturday, and a command post has been established in the vicinity of the breakwater. Yesterday, the Asturian coast was under a yellow warning due to winds of force 7 and swells between four and five metres high. This yellow alert for the entire coast of the Principality will remain in effect until 15:00 hours this Saturday.
