Births increase for the first time in a decade in Spain, although by just 1 per cent.

In 2025, the number of births increased by 1%, reaching a total of 321,164, although this coincides with a delay in the age of motherhood. Deaths increased by 2.5%, which means that natural growth continues to be negative. In the year 2025, a 1.0% increase in the number of births was recorded. This is information from the statistics published by the INE this Wednesday, relating to the monthly estimation of births and the weekly count of deaths at the end of that same year.
