Ortega Smith says that he will continue as spokesperson in the Madrid City Council as he has the support of the majority of Vox councillors.

Javier Ortega Smith, spokesperson for the Vox municipal group, has declared that he will continue in the session this Tuesday, despite the national leadership of the party instructing him to resign from the spokesperson role. Ortega Smith argues that he has the backing of the majority of the group and that he will maintain his position until the other councillors decide otherwise. This was stated during a press conference prior to the plenary session, in response to uncertainties regarding who will assume the role of spokesperson, after his party provisionally expelled him on 18th February for not complying with the national leadership’s instruction to grant this responsibility to councillor Arantxa Cabello.
