Adif only removed parts from the accident in Adamuz that were not taken by the Civil Guard and the CIAF.

Madrid. This Tuesday, Adif stated that between 22 and 23 January, the material that the Civil Guard and the Railway Accident Investigation Commission did not collect during their inspection following the accident in Adamuz was removed and kept available for the authorities. According to sources from Adif, if these pieces had not been removed and stored, they would have ended up in a landfill once construction began on 26 January. Adif indicates that everything was taken to one of its maintenance buildings in Hornachuelos and was under the supervision of the authorities. The material was from the track heading towards Madrid, and not in the opposite direction, where the derailment occurred on 18 January, which resulted in the deaths of 46 people.
