Marlaska appears before Congress regarding the V-16 beacon amidst the storm of the DAO scandal.

This Wednesday, the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, will inform the Interior Committee of Congress about the V-16 luminous beacon. This presentation comes amidst the scandal related to the sexual assault allegation against the former number two of the National Police. Sources from the Ministry of the Interior report that the minister will not shy away from addressing the case, but he is not willing to allow the complaint against the former DAO to be «exploited» in a committee that was requested to discuss a different matter, the beacon. The meeting in Congress, requested by the PP and in the context of the obligation for signalling since January, takes place just a week after Marlaska made statements following the resignation of Chief Commissioner José Ángel González, who was cited in a gender violence court in Madrid due to a sexual assault complaint filed by an inspector.
