The bilateral meeting on economy between Ukraine and the USA begins in Geneva.

The negotiation teams from Kyiv and Washington have begun their meeting in Geneva, which will focus on the economic agreement that Ukraine seeks to ensure investments from the United States for its reconstruction in a post-war context. A bilateral meeting has commenced with the United States delegation, which includes Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, reported Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umérov through his social media. It was expected that this would be a new round of negotiations concerning the conditions for a possible agreement to end the conflict between Ukraine and Russia; however, the Russian Government did not send a delegation this time. The most recent round of negotiations between the three parties took place two weeks ago in Geneva. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had anticipated that there would be a new trilateral meeting, but this will not happen today; instead, it will be held in early March. Alongside Rustem Umérov, the leader of the ruling party in Parliament, David Arajamia, and the Minister of Economy, Oleksi Sobolev, have arrived in Ukraine, accompanied by his chief assistant, Darina Marchak. Umérov indicated in his official social media account that they will conduct an analysis of the ‘prosperity package’, which includes measures for financial support and the recovery of Ukraine, tools to promote investment, and frameworks for long-term cooperation.
