The Congress will overturn the moratorium on evictions this Thursday and will endorse the increase in pensions.

It is expected that the majority made up of the PP, Vox, and Junts will vote against this Thursday, in the session of Congress, the royal decree-law that extends the moratorium on evictions of families in vulnerable situations, as well as other provisions of the social shield in fiscal and business matters. Additionally, the approval of the increase in pensions is anticipated. The Government divided the revaluation of pensions for 2026 and the social shield into two separate decrees, following the rejection in January of a decree that included all these measures, as well as others related to fiscal and business issues. The reason for this rejection was that the moratorium on evictions is considered a protection for squatting.
