Washington. The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, has passed away as a result of a joint attack by the United States and Israel on the Islamic Republic. The president stated in an interview with NBC News that he believes it is the right course of action when questioned about the rumours regarding the Iranian leader’s death. In that conversation, the American leader described the operation as a «success» and asserted that many of the country’s leaders would have also died: «Most of those who make the decisions are no longer here,» he commented. Ali Khamenei, who is 86 years old, has been the Supreme Leader of Iran since 1989, holding the position of the highest political and religious authority in the country, above the president.
