Trump weighs «taking control of everything» Iran or withdrawing «in two or three days»

New York.- This Saturday, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that he is considering different «exit options» for the joint offensive with Israel against Iran, suggesting that he could «take complete control» or withdraw «within two or three days».

“I can extend it and take full control, or conclude it in two or three days and tell the Iranians: ‘We’ll meet again in a few years if you decide to restart (your nuclear and missile programmes)’”, Trump said in a phone interview with Axios. The leader indicated that he is not limited to a single option to conclude Operation Epic Fury, the name given by the Pentagon to the joint mission against Iranian targets that began this Saturday. Was an attack launched against Iran? “In any case, it will take them several years to recover from this assault,” he predicted. When questioned about the reason behind the operation, Trump indicated that the main cause was the outcome of the nuclear negotiations that took place this week in Geneva. “The Iranians came closer and then pulled away, came closer and then pulled away.” From this, I concluded that they are not really seeking to reach an agreement,” he commented on the nuclear treaty that his administration was discussing with Tehran. Additionally, he mentioned that the second reason was the behaviour of the Iranian regime in recent years. “I observed that something happened every month, whether they were launching something into the air or assassinating someone,” he commented after admitting that he asked his team to compile all incidents related to Iran over the past 25 years.
