The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared that it has begun missile and drone attacks targeting Israel, following air operations conducted by Israeli and US forces in various locations in Iran. «In response to the enemy’s aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, we have initiated missile and drone attacks towards the occupied territories,» it stated in a communiqué. Attacks on US facilities in Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates were verified as the ‘Operation True Promise 4′ commenced in response to the aggression on Iranian territory. «The missiles and drones of the Revolutionary Guard carried out an attack against the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, as well as other US facilities in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to military targets in the occupied territories,» it indicated. The spokesperson for the Iranian Armed Forces’ General Staff stated to the Mehr agency: «Any facility in the region that provides support to Israel will be a target for us.» The official Iranian channel Press TV reported an attack in Bahrain aimed at the US naval base located in that country. Media from different nations also mentioned explosions in other Gulf countries, and the Iranian news agency and public broadcasting service reported that Iranian forces have conducted attacks on US bases in the region.
