Nicosia (EFE).- This Monday, four F-16 combat aircraft from the Greek Air Force arrived in Cyprus with the aim of strengthening the island’s air security, following a drone attack on a British military base, as reported by the Cypriot government spokesperson, Konstantinos Letymbiotis. The representative indicated on X that the combat aircraft landed after the Greek government’s response, as part of the strengthening of preventive measures and collaboration between Cyprus and Greece. The implementation comes after an incident where a drone from Lebanon caused damage at the British base in Akrotiri, located in the southwest of the island, which led the Cypriot authorities to initiate security protocols. The night before, an Iranian-origin drone struck the British base in Akrotiri on the Mediterranean island, causing damage, as reported by Christodoulides in a video this Monday.
