Madrid (EFE).- This Monday, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero commented that he reached an agreement with Julio Martínez Martínez for his functions as a consultant at Análisis Relevante to be complemented by the activities of his daughters’ company in the fields of communication and marketing. During his statement to the Senate’s investigation committee on the Koldo case, Zapatero clarified that upon receiving the offer from Julio Martínez Martínez to act as a consultant for Análisis Relevante, he suggested that the agreement also include his daughters’ collaboration in communication and marketing tasks. He mentioned that his daughters’ company is a business that employs six people and emphasised that he has never established contracts with any governmental entity. The former head of state stated that he received around €70,000 gross annually for his consultancy services to Análisis Relevante, which were invoiced irregularly and with the corresponding deduction for income tax, as he is registered as a self-employed worker.
Zapatero linked his consultancy work with the hiring of his daughters’ company.
