This Wednesday, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, communicated with the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, to express France’s solidarity in response to the threats from the President of the United States, Donald Trump. Trump proposed the option of halting trade with Spain due to the Spanish government’s position regarding the conflict in the Middle East. The President of the Spanish Government addressed the media this Wednesday to reiterate his team’s stance on the crisis, summarising his administration’s position in four words: «No to war.» Sánchez argued that Spain is based on the principles of the European Union, international law, and peace, and warned that the country will not become complicit in anything harmful to the world.
