NATO reaffirms its defences against ballistic missiles after shooting down one from Iran aimed at Turkey.

Brussels. This Thursday, the North Atlantic Council confirmed the Alliance’s ability to defend and adapt against ballistic threats, following the interception of a missile in Turkey.

NATO stated in a communiqué that this is a testament to the Alliance’s capability to protect communities against threats, including ballistic missiles. Representatives of the Alliance gathered to receive information on the security situation, considering the attacks from Iran in the Middle East and beyond.

NATO members condemned the attacks carried out by Iran against Turkey and expressed support for Ankara. Rutte highlighted the work of the Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, General of the United States Air Force, Alexus G.
