The Kremlin says that Iran’s war is not theirs and that it should look after its own interests.

Dmitri Peskov, the spokesperson for the Russian president, stated that the Kremlin considers the conflict involving Iran to be irrelevant to them and that they should prioritise their own interests. «The current war is not our war,» he affirmed. «From the beginning, we have expressed our position that any military conflict can provoke instability in the region,» Peskov stated. Moscow has made it clear that it is disengaged from the situation and does not have the capacity to intervene to end the confrontation. «Can we stop this war? No, we cannot,» he added. Only those who started it have the ability to bring it to an end, which, in our opinion, is what they should do,» he declared. Therefore, the Kremlin will once again observe, as it did during the attacks on Iran in the summer of 2025, focusing solely on its own interests. «We must act based on what benefits us.»
