A second military aircraft is already flying from Oman to Spain with 237 Spaniards evacuated.

An A330 aircraft from the Spanish Armed Forces is heading to Spain from Oman with 237 Spanish citizens evacuated from the Middle East due to the conflict in Iran, marking the second evacuation operation coordinated by the Government. A military transport plane has departed from Oman as part of the operation aimed at evacuating civilians following the outbreak of the conflict with Iran, and it is expected to arrive at the Torrejón de Ardoz airbase in Madrid, as reported by the Ministry of Defence. This morning, the aircraft landed in Oman after changing its course following the pick-up of the 57th contingent from the Tactical Air Detachment ‘Orion’, which was involved in the European Union’s ‘Atalanta’ operation to combat piracy, coming from Djibouti. This is the second aircraft sent by the Air and Space Force since the onset of the conflict, after the repatriation of another 171 citizens. The Ministry of Defence indicated that through this operation, the Armed Forces support the Government’s initiatives to repatriate Spanish citizens in the region. The second phase of evacuation is being carried out under the supervision of the commander of the Operations Command, as communicated by the Defence Staff (EMAD) via a message on X.
