The summit of Trump with right-wing Latin American presidents begins in Miami.

The meeting organised by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, with conservative Latin American leaders began this Saturday in Miami with the arrival of the attendees for the event. The summit, known as the ‘Shield of the Americas’, is taking place at the Trump National Doral Miami. Its aim is to strengthen U.S. leadership in Latin America and counter China’s influence in the region. The first to arrive were the President of Panama, José Raúl Mulino; the President-elect of Chile, José Antonio Kast; and the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar. Later, the leaders of Bolivia, Rodrigo Paz; Ecuador, Daniel Noboa; Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chaves; Argentina, Javier Milei; the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader; Guyana, Irfaan Ali; Paraguay, Santiago Peña; and El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, also arrived.
