London (EFE).- On Friday, a United States Air Force bomber landed at a base in England, following the United Kingdom granting permission for Washington to use its territory in operations against Iran, local media reported this Saturday. The Rockwell B-1 Lancer, a bomber that flies at supersonic speeds and has the capacity to carry up to 24 cruise missiles, arrived at RAF Fairford, located in Gloucestershire, in the southwest of England. This base is one of two that the United Kingdom has made available to the United States, along with Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. The aircraft is 44.5 metres long, has an approximate weight of 86 tonnes, and is capable of reaching speeds in excess of 1,448 km/h, making it the fastest bomber in the United States Air Force, according to reports. It features radar and GPS technology for target identification, as well as electronic warfare devices such as jammers, radar warning systems, and decoys to protect itself from enemy defences.
The first American bomber arrives in England for the war in Iran.
