The feminist movement is organising protests in cities across Spain for 8 March, International Women’s Day, in response to a world in conflict that impacts women. Calls will take place in different cities due to differences among feminists regarding prostitution and the trans law. The marches share demands for equality and an end to gender-based violence. Cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Sevilla, Cádiz, and Logroño will have demonstrations organised by the two strands of the feminist movement. In Vitoria, San Sebastián, Santander, Granada, and Pamplona, there will be a single call. In Zaragoza, the two demonstrations will join together in Plaza del Pilar. In Valladolid, a single call will be organised by the Coordinadora de Mujeres, with the attendance of the Minister for Equality, Ana Redondo. This year, the slogans reflect migration policies, war conflicts, and systems that oppress women and girls, focusing on the protection of women reporting abuse.
