The Spanish Government will approve tax measures to lower electricity prices and is considering ways to reduce fuel costs.

The Government is working on actions that include tax reductions to control the cost of electricity and is analysing ways to reduce fuel prices, focusing on sectors such as agriculture and transport. The Minister of Economy, Trade and Business, Carlos Cuerpo, explained in a press conference the actions being considered to address the economic repercussions of the conflict in Iran. Cuerpo emphasised that the meeting was productive and sent a message of calm, stating that the situation is far from that which sparked the war in Ukraine. He also stressed the need for prudence and caution, as the final effect on prices will depend on the duration of the conflict, and currently, there is no reliable information regarding this.
