The South Korean military reported that Pyongyang fired an unidentified projectile to the east, although no further information was provided, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap. Japan’s Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, has instructed authorities to gather and assess information, provide the public with accurate and timely data, ensure the safety of aircraft, ships, and others, and be prepared for any eventuality, according to a statement from her office. Japanese public broadcaster NHK, citing sources from the Ministry of Defence, reported that the projectile appears to have landed outside Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone, and so far, no damage has been reported.
