The Popular Party, led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo, is putting pressure on Vox to reach an agreement that would facilitate the formation of governments in Castilla y León, Extremadura, and Aragón. Santiago Abascal has stated that his party will join those governments if programme-based agreements are reached. After the elections in Castilla y León, the leadership of the political parties has met to assess results that have improved for the PP, PSOE, and Vox in the region. The Popular Party, under the leadership of Alberto Fernández Mañueco, feels strengthened to remain in power, and from the national leadership of the party, there is a call to resolve the situation that remained pending after the elections in Extremadura and Aragón. Feijóo has urged Vox to act responsibly in the formation of regional governments. He emphasised the need to reach agreements and has urged them to stop «playing» with the stability of the territories. He stated that no substantial objections have been raised and that excuses have been made, calling for a majority based on his party’s programme. For his part, Santiago Abascal expressed that his goal is to achieve that understanding, not only to provide external support but also to participate in the governments of the three autonomous communities that have held elections since December.
