The Spanish representation at the UN in Geneva distinguished itself from other countries in the European Union during the Human Rights Council debate on the situation in Iran. It condemned the repression by the ayatollah regime and expressed its opposition to the attacks by the United States and Israel against that nation. The Spanish ambassador to the UN, Marcos Gómez, emphasised in his speech that «Iran is the nation of Masha Amini, but it is also home to the girls who were victims of the attack on the school in Minab.»
Spain distances itself from its European partners by rejecting attacks on Iran at the UN.
