Five killed in a US airstrike in Baghdad against pro-Iran militias.

According to sources from the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, at least five people have lost their lives in a US air strike that hit a house in Baghdad. Among the deceased are two leaders of the Popular Mobilisation Forces militia and an Iranian advisor. The offensive carried out by the US Air Force flattened a house in the Jadriya district, near the Green Zone, an area that houses foreign embassies, including that of the US. The representative of the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohamed Shía al Sudani, Sabah al Numan, issued a statement condemning the attacks aimed at the Popular Mobilisation Forces, a militia composed of Shia affiliated with Iran, which is part of the Iraqi Armed Forces. Numan also expressed his rejection of the attacks directed at infrastructure, buildings, and diplomatic missions that have been carried out from Iraq since the onset of the US and Israeli offensive against Iran. «These attacks aim to weaken the security and stability that Iraq has achieved thanks to the sacrifices of our security forces across all its branches,» he stated.
