Almost half of the French citizens called to vote this Sunday in the second round of the municipal elections went to the polls by mid-afternoon, a figure comparable to that of last week in the first round. According to the Ministry of the Interior, the voter turnout at that time was 48.10%, compared to 48.90% the previous week. This figure is higher than that of 2020, when the turnout was 34.67%. In 2014, the turnout by mid-afternoon was 52.36%, while in 2008 it reached 54.45%. The turnout varied between different cities, with increases in some of them. For example, in Marseille, the mid-afternoon turnout increased by three points. In contrast, in Paris, the turnout decreased by three points at that time.
