The cost of Brent oil has fallen by 13% and is trading below a hundred dollars per barrel, following the announcement from the President of the United States, Donald Trump, regarding negotiations with Iran and the possibility of a ceasefire in the Middle East. The price of Brent dropped to 96 dollars per barrel after Trump’s announcement on his social media platform Truth, where he stated that the United States and Iran have been in talks to resolve their conflicts in the Middle East. Trump explained that he has ordered the Department of Defence to suspend all military attacks against Iran’s energy plants and energy infrastructure for a period of five days, depending on the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions.
