Junts will vote ‘yes’ to the anti-crisis decree if the Government supports its self-employed initiative.

Madrid. This Tuesday, Junts has declared that it will support the decree of measures to alleviate the consequences of the war in the Middle East, as long as the Government accepts its demand to implement the European directive that allows self-employed individuals with annual incomes below 85,000 euros to be exempt from VAT. In an interview on TV3, Míriam Nogueras, the spokesperson for Junts in Congress, stated that her party will vote in favour of the decree approved by the Council of Ministers last Friday, provided that the Government backs the proposal presented in a non-legislative proposition that will be voted on Thursday, before the anti-crisis decree. Sources close to Carles Puigdemont’s party claim that the Government will support the implementation of the European directive and will also back a motion from their party that will be discussed on Thursday in the full session of Congress. Nogueras pointed out that the Government’s decree contains some of the tax reduction proposals put forward by her party. She has indicated her party’s backing if the Government also supports their proposal. The Junts representative has highlighted that Spain is the only country in the EU not implementing this measure, and for this reason, they have taken it to court, referring to the European Commission’s decision to bring Spain before the Court of Justice of the European Union. The support of Junts, along with that of the other members of the Government, will likely lead to the approval of the regulation, making the final decision of the PP no longer a decisive factor.
