Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, stated that the Armed Forces will take charge of the bridges over the Litani River in Lebanon and the southern region of the country. He indicated that the five bridges «used by Hizbollah» over the Litani have been destroyed, and that the Army will take responsibility for the remaining bridges and the security zone up to the Litani. The minister did not specify whether the oversight would be temporary or how long it would last, and emphasised that residents who have been displaced from southern Lebanon will not return to their homes until Israel ensures the safety of its population.
