The United States is preparing to send the 82nd Airborne Division to the Middle East, although no decision has been made on a deployment in Iranian territory, according to various local media reports. Fox News National Security Correspondent, Jennifer Griffin, stated on the social media platform X that General Brandon Tegtmeier, commander of the 82nd Airborne, has been instructed to deploy to the Middle East while the Pentagon and the White House consider the possibility of these troops conducting ground operations. The New York Times reported that Washington was considering sending this division to the area. The Wall Street Journal, citing two unnamed American officials, reports that the Pentagon intends to send 3,000 soldiers from the «82» to the Middle East to support the attacks that the United States has been carrying out since February 28, in collaboration with Israel.
