This Tuesday, Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur for the occupied Palestinian territories, stated that Israel is employing the same «modus operandi» in its offensives against Lebanon and Iran that it used in Gaza, with the «complicity» of other countries, especially Western ones. «In presenting my report titled ‘Anatomy of a Genocide’, I alerted the international community to the risk that, if there was no intervention against Israel, this would become a habitual pattern. Six months later, Israel is replicating in Lebanon what it did in Gaza, and also in Iran, and it will not stop there,» the human rights expert said during a press conference in Geneva. Albanese was one of the first to label the actions of the Israeli army in Gaza as «genocide», which has led to her facing sanctions imposed by the United States that impact her professional and personal life, as well as that of her family.
