Sánchez champions the patriotism of his «No to war» stance and dismisses Feijóo and Abascal.

Madrid. This Wednesday, during the plenary session of Congress, the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, defended his stance of «No to war» and disqualified the leaders of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and Vox, Santiago Abascal. «Allowing silence in the face of a war that is unjust and illegal is not a sign of prudence or loyalty, but rather an act of cowardice and complicity,» he pointed out during a statement in which Feijóo and Abascal reproached him for images published by an Iranian agency. Sánchez highlighted the repercussions of the Iraq war, which was supported in 2003 by José María Aznar’s Government. He criticised him for his lack of integrity in not having apologised for his stance in that conflict. «A war for ego,» he added, earning a round of applause from members of the Socialist Party as he declared that now «it is a source of pride to be Spanish,» with the country established as an «international model» in the face of a war that is «illegal.» The debate has been intense, where Sánchez labelled Feijóo as «ignorant» due to his lack of knowledge about Iran, stating that «he is not ready to lead the country»; furthermore, he pointed out Abascal for being in politics with the aim of «enriching himself.»
