Córdoba.- The magistrate investigating the accident in Adamuz on 18 January, in which 46 people died, has requested that the railway company Adif clarify the information regarding the events and the reasons that led to the replacement of several sections of track at the site of the incident. In a ruling issued on Tuesday, the judge has given Adif a period of five days to «clarify the facts and reasons that justified the replacement of the 36-metre section of track at kilometre 317.264 of line 2.» She also requests the identification of the company supplying the defective rail, its legal representative, the technical director of the company that reported the defect, the person who recommended that Adif carry out the replacement, as well as the employees or technicians of Adif who discussed the incident with the supplying company and its technical director, and the worker or person in charge at Adif who approved the rail change.
