The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, criticised former Prime Minister José María Aznar for his stance on the Iraq war, questioning his integrity. He accused the PP and Vox of being complicit due to their silence regarding the crisis in the Middle East. Sánchez stated that it is the result of what those who pushed for the war have achieved. He addressed the members of the PP and Vox at the start of his speech before the plenary session of Congress to explain the Government’s position following the attack by the United States and Israel on Iran. He expressed his regret over Aznar’s decision to involve Spain in the Iraq war and urged to avoid repeating those mistakes. However, he also criticised Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Santiago Abascal for adopting a similar stance regarding the war in Iran.
