Washington. This Thursday, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced that he has extended the deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz until Monday, 6 April, warning that if they do not comply, he will destroy their power plants. The Republican leader communicated on his platform Truth Social that, at the request of the Iranian government, he has chosen to extend the deadline by an additional 10 days, which will conclude on 6 April at 20:00 Washington time. Trump noted that negotiations are ongoing and are progressing positively. Last week, Trump set a deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world’s oil passes, warning that he could destroy their power plants. The initial deadline was set for Monday but was later extended to this Friday, justifying that both nations had started negotiations to end the conflict.
