This Thursday, the Plenary of Congress has ratified the royal decree law that will allocate more than 5 billion euros to mitigate the effects of the conflict in the Middle East, implementing measures such as the reduction of VAT on electricity, gas, and fuels. This decree has been approved with 175 votes in favour, 33 against, and 141 abstentions. This decree encompasses fiscal actions, such as the reduction of VAT on electricity, gas, and fuels; the decrease of the hydrocarbon tax for petrol and diesel; the reduction of the excise duty on electricity and the suspension of the tax on electricity generation. A compensation of 20 cents per litre of fuel is provided for professionals, the extension of the social electricity voucher until the end of the year, and measures to strengthen the electrical system.
