The tourism industry in Spain anticipates a Holy Week comparable to that of the previous year, thanks to a recovery in demand. Despite the disruption in early March due to the conflict in the Middle East, travellers continue with their travel plans, favouring closer destinations. Travel will continue to various places due to the situation in certain contexts, especially in war conflicts and regarding interruptions in connectivity, according to the Union of Travel Agencies, Unav. In the first week of March, a decrease in demand was observed, driven by the conflict in Iran, particularly impacting distant destinations, especially those related to Asia. However, since that moment, demand has been recovering, according to the Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies (Ceav). Nevertheless, it is not only the conflict that has disrupted the holiday plans of Spaniards; the inconveniences in the rail system have also affected destinations where trains were used for travel, especially following the accident in Adamuz (Córdoba), which has created a perception of insecurity in this mode of transport, according to the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodations (Cehat).
The tourism sector expects a Holy Week similar to 2025 in the context of the war in Iran.
