The Israeli Army says it has detected a missile launched from Yemen towards its territory.

The Israeli Defence Forces reported that they had identified a missile fired towards their territory from Yemen, marking the first attack from this country in the context of the war between the United States and Israel against Iran. Air defence systems are active to counter the threat, states the announcement shared on the IDF’s Telegram channel, which urged the public to follow their instructions. Approximately fifteen minutes after alerting about the threat, authorities updated the information, indicating that after evaluation, it is now safe to leave the protected areas across the country. Houthi forces from Yemen, who are supported by Iran, announced that they are prepared to intervene directly in the Middle Eastern conflict if other actors join the United States and Israel in their attack against Iran, or if the Red Sea is used to carry out attacks against Iran. In a statement broadcast on television, the representative of the military wing of the Houthis, Yahya Sarea, asserted that the group’s troops are ready to act and willing to intervene if certain conditions arise that could escalate the conflict in the region. Sarea mentioned that these conditions include the establishment of any new coalition with the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the use of the Red Sea to carry out hostile actions against Tehran or any Muslim nation. These claims come a month after the United States and Israel conducted airstrikes in Iran, which is considered the core of the «Axis of Resistance,» encompassing the Houthis and other armed groups in the Middle East. During the course of the conflict in Gaza, the Houthis conducted over 1,800 offensives against Israel in support of Palestine, employing ballistic, cruise, hypersonic missiles, drones and vessels, according to data provided by the Yemeni insurgents. Most of these attacks are intercepted by Israel, without causing casualties or material damage.
