Madrid. Judge Juan Carlos Peinado has summoned a hearing on Holy Wednesday to advance in the case against Begoña Gómez. The three defendants will be informed that the proceedings will be carried out before a jury. The wife of the President of the Government, his advisor Cristina Álvarez, and businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés have been summoned to the Court of Instruction number 41 in Madrid. They are not expected to appear in Plaza de Castilla, as they will be represented by their lawyers. Judge Peinado has carried out this procedure for the third time, as he previously did with a separate case of embezzlement and with the main one related to influence peddling. Both investigations were unified into a single process, following the instructions of the Provincial Court of Madrid. The higher court above Peinado also required the judge to issue a new order for a jury to handle the case. Peinado commemorates a summons on Holy Wednesday for the second year, as in 2025 he appeared at the Moncloa to testify before the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Cortes, Félix Bolaños. Additionally, the judge has also summoned on Saturday and Sunday.
