A 45-year-old man was arrested as responsible for the murder of his 75-year-old mother with a knife and for injuring his 76-year-old father. This incident took place in the family home in Algeciras, and the investigation has been taken over by the National Police. The arrest occurred in the parking lot of the Las Palomas shopping centre, where the individual was inside his car. He was taken to the Menéndez Tolosa medical centre for evaluation and is now in custody of the authorities.
