Iranian authorities have reported the death of one person during the protests in the city of Qom, raising the total number of fatalities to eight over six days of demonstrations, according to the non-governmental organisation Hrana. The Security Council of Qom province stated that during the unrest, a member of a terrorist group died after detonating a grenade in his hand. At least eight people have died in Iran during the six days of protests, and dozens have been arrested, according to Hrana. The human rights organisation reported that the demonstrations have spread to 46 cities across 22 provinces in the country. Various cities, including Tehran, Shiraz, Qom, Mashhad, Karaj, and Qazvin, were the scene of protests with slogans against the Islamic Republic.
