A Turkish Airlines flight lands in Barcelona following a bomb threat on board.

A Turkish Airlines plane has arrived in Barcelona following a bomb threat on board, which prompted an intervention by security forces, according to the Civil Guard. The aircraft, which arrived from Turkey, landed in a secure area, as reported by Civil Protection, which activated the Aerocat emergency plan to monitor the situation at the airport, which continues to operate normally. The Mossos d’Esquadra are working with the airport operator and the Civil Guard, who are inspecting the aircraft, emphasising that the threat does not affect the operation of the facility. Flight TK1853 departed from Istanbul at 09:22 and arrived at El Prat at 10:57, with a delay of approximately 30 minutes. The plane, carrying 148 passengers and seven crew members, was diverted to a secure area for parking, and the threat was received around 10:00. The Generalitat Firefighters have dispatched units to the area as a precautionary measure, and the local police in El Prat de Llobregat have also deployed personnel. The aircraft circled for approximately 20 minutes off the coast of Catalonia before landing.
