The Church will cover the compensations for victims of sexual abuse, according to the agreement between the Government and the Spanish Episcopal Conference. This agreement includes the establishment of a mechanism through the Ombudsman for the repair of victims who cannot resort to judicial means. Minister Félix Bolaños, the president of the Episcopal Conference, Luis Argüello, and the president of the Spanish Conference of Religious, Jesús Díaz Sariego, have signed an agreement following the Church’s acceptance of the Government’s proposal to assist and compensate victims of sexual abuse.
