A Kuwaiti oil tanker was hit by a projectile fired from Iran at the port of Dubai, according to the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. The attack caused a fire and damage to the vessel, which could lead to an oil spill, according to a statement from the Kuwait News Agency. The incident did not result in any injuries and was attributed to Iran, which has been launching missiles and drones at American and Israeli targets in the Persian Gulf in response to attacks by Washington and Tel Aviv on Tehran. The Corporation stated that the tanker was loaded with oil at the time of the attack. The British Maritime Trade Operations agency reported an attack on a ship 31 nautical miles northwest of Dubai. Since February 28, the UKMTO has recorded 24 incidents involving vessels near the Strait of Hormuz, of which 16 involved projectiles striking vessels.
