ARAGÓN ELECTIONS | Voter turnout is 10.81% as of 11.15 am.

Zaragoza, 8 February (EFE).- By 11:15 hours, the turnout for the elections in Aragón this Sunday stands at 10.81 percent, with 105,308 citizens having exercised their right to vote. This is the first time that participation data has been reported at 11:15 hours, so it is not comparable to the regional elections of 2023. In terms of the provinces, 10.91% of voters in Zaragoza, 10.41% in Huesca, and 10.74% in Teruel have already cast their votes. In a press conference, the government representative announced that 21,467 people have voted by post, which represents a decrease of 37.2 percent compared to 2023. Of this total, 13,735 correspond to Zaragoza, 4,912 to Huesca, and 2,820 to Teruel. This Sunday, 991,892 residents of the community are called to vote, in addition to the citizens residing abroad, who number 44,433 across 130 countries. By 09:30, all polling stations had been established and the day is progressing normally, according to the spokesperson for the Government of Aragón, Mar Vaquero. The inhabitants of Aragón are heading to the polls two and a half years after the elections in May 2023, which were brought forward by the president and candidate of the Popular Party, Jorge Azcón, after failing to reach a budgetary agreement with Vox for the second year running. The main candidates from the different parties are Jorge Azcón (PP), Pilar Alegría (PSOE), Alejandro Nolasco (Vox), Jorge Pueyo (CHA), Tomás Guitarte (Aragón-Teruel Existe), María Goikoetxea (Podemos), Marta Abengochea (IU-Movimiento Sumar), and Alberto Izquierdo (PAR).
