Madrid. This Monday, at least three tanker aircraft from the United States have departed from the Rota base in Cádiz, according to information obtained via the air tracking application Flightradar24. The aircraft, which are three Boeing KC-135s of the U.S. Air Force used for refuelling fighter jets and bombers, left Rota in the early hours of the morning heading to an airbase in southern France. In all three instances, the planes flew in a northeast direction, crossing part of the peninsula and the coasts of the Valencia Community and Catalonia, before landing at the French military base of Istres-Le Tubé, located northwest of Marseille. This facility is part of the French Air and Space Force and is occasionally also used by U.S. aircraft. Regarding the movement of U.S. planes from shared Spanish bases, Defence Minister Margarita Robles has indicated that the United States may have decided to relocate these aircraft to other bases, as they will be unable to operate from the Spanish ones in support of attacks against Iran.
