The Government of Azerbaijan accused Iran of a drone attack at the airport in the Nakhchivan enclave, located 10 kilometres from the border with Iran. The attack caused damage to the airport and left two civilians wounded. Baku expressed its disapproval of this incident; such actions violate norms and principles of international law and exacerbate tensions in the region. Moreover, Baku summoned the Iranian ambassador, Mojtaba Demirchilu, for clarification regarding the attack. A demonstration of discontent towards the Iranian side took place, and the relevant note of protest will be delivered.
