The Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, has stated that the damaged rail where the Iryo train derailed in Adamuz (Córdoba) is a new rail. In a message on X, Puente labelled the article published today by the newspaper El Mundo on its front page as a hoax. This article claims that the location where the Iryo train derailed is a connection point between new materials and tracks that have not been renewed since 1989. The minister has also shared a certificate confirming that the rail is new, manufactured in 2023 and installed between May and June 2025. The rail that caused the derailment is a new one, specifically number 312592Y101.
