Catar reports that its gas export capacity has been impacted in the long term.

The Qatari Government has invoked the «force majeure» clause in QatarEnergy’s contracts with several countries, including China, South Korea, Italy, and Belgium, due to the Iranian attack on the Ras Laffan plant, which will impact its export capacity. The head of Qatar’s Ministry of Energy, Saad Sherida al-Kabi, stated that the Iranian missile attacks have resulted in a loss of $20 billion in annual revenue and have caused damages that will take three to five years to repair. The minister indicated that this decision will impact liquefied natural gas export contracts with countries such as China, South Korea, Italy, and Belgium. Iran carried out missile launches targeted at this industrial port complex, which is the world’s main centre for liquefied natural gas.
