Santos Cerdán, former Secretary of Organisation of the PSOE, has admitted that he met with Leire Díez on two occasions at the party’s headquarters in April 2024. He did not see her again after those meetings, although she contacted him when he was released from prison in November. Cerdán is being investigated for corruption in the awarding of public works contracts and appeared in the courts of Plaza de Castilla in Madrid to testify in relation to the case against Leire Díez for bribery and influence peddling, as she attempted to interfere with prosecutors and senior officials of the UCO to obstruct investigations.
Cerdán acknowledges two meetings with Leire Díez and that she called him upon her release from prison.
