Beijing (EFE) – This Tuesday, China requested that the United States remove the tariffs it has imposed on its trade partners and expressed its willingness to hold a sixth round of bilateral economic negotiations, in response to the tariff changes announced by Washington. The Ministry of Commerce of China has issued a statement asking the United States to «repeal and refrain from imposing unilateral tariffs» and emphasises that «collaboration is beneficial for both parties, while confrontation is detrimental to both.» It also expresses its readiness to engage in «open dialogues» with the United States in the context of an upcoming sixth round of economic and trade negotiations, and conveys its hope that Washington will collaborate «in the same direction» to ensure the development of relations between the two countries. This statement comes after the intervention of the U.S. Customs Office.
China asks the US to cancel the «unilateral» tariffs and offers a sixth round of consultations.
